The gaming laptop is a special thing. A device packing desktop-level gaming performance into a machine that's a fraction of the size. Of course, this does come with some compromises, including the cooling necessary to maintain high frame rates in the latest games—in short, they can be real loud—but the main thing is they're often so much more expensive than an equivalent desktop gaming PC. Which is why we're here to deliver you the best gaming laptop deals to help save a buck or three.

There are new RTX 50-series GPUs for laptops on the shelves now, though they are obviously the pricier machines and less prone to a sales discount. But we've also found a good selection of deals on great RTX 40-series lappies.

Stock has been running tight in the face of the new models, and that, in combination with some tariff tomfoolery, is certainly making good laptop deals harder to find than they used to be. Still, we stand behind every laptop on this page—although it's worth mentioning that good prices for RTX 4080 machines have all but disappeared at this point, so we're leaving them off this list for now.

Below, we've curated a selection of the best budget-friendly gaming laptop deals we've spotted online. Remember that this list isn't exhaustive, but these are the gaming laptop deals we believe are worth your money. And check back regularly because the best gaming laptops tend to fly off the shelves when they go on sale. And if you've decided you're more into getting yourself a desktop bargain, we've compiled a list of the best cheap gaming PC deals, too.

The price may have fluctuated recently, but this is still one of the cheapest RTX 4070 gaming laptops you'll find in a market that's increasingly starved of stock. There's a decent AMD gaming CPU, a reasonable amount of dual-channel memory, a speedy screen, and that all important GPU to play with. The 512 GB SSD is small, however, but you can easily upgrade it with the spare NVMe slot inside.

There are precious few all-AMD gaming laptops out there, largely because AMD made precious few actual laptop GPUs. The RX 7700S is one, and it's a decent pixel-pusher, but with the usual Radeon caveats, i.e. no Multi Frame Gen fun, and some difficulty with heavily ray-traced games, such as Cyberpunk 2077. Other than that it will often beat a high-powered RTX 4060. This machine also has a great supporting spec alongside the Radeon GPU and the eight-core Ryzen CPU. The 165 Hz 1200p screen is good, but the 32 GB of memory and 1 TB SSD are also welcome at this price point.

With a 110 W version of the RTX 4070, with wee Acer machine has plenty of grunt about it, and that 120 Hz refresh 1600p panel will make a really crisp screen for a 14-inch laptop. You're also getting a full 1 TB SSD alongside your 16 GB of soldered memory (no upgrades happening there) and a decent Meteor Lake CPU at its heart. It's one of Intel's more efficient chips, with six Performance and eight Efficient cores, which ought to help with the battery life of this portable machine. And it's a pleasingly affordable price right now, too.

You know what I hate? Gaming laptops with just 512 GB SSDs. A 1 TB SSD is not an expensive thing, so why do manufacturers still persist with so little storage? Thankfully, laptops like this HP Victus with a paucity of SSD space also come with a second SSD slot in the back. That makes it a super-easy upgrade when you run out of space, without having to replace your OS or anything. Likewise, the Victus 16 uses standard SODIMM for memory so you can upgrade the 16 GB RAM down the line, too. The 120 W RTX 4070 is one you won't have to rush out and upgrade, however, as it's a quality GPU at this price, and so is that AMD processor, too. In fact, it comes with the 780M integrated graphics that run most handhelds, so you can get some good gaming battery life by switching off the Nvidia GPU when you're away from the plug.

Sitting somewhere under the RTX 4080 and well above the RTX 4070 in terms of gaming performance, the RTX 5070 Ti promises to be a great mid-range laptop GPU. I've used the new Vector 16 HX AI for weeks, and have been hugely impressed with the RTX 5080 version, and I've no doubt the RTX 5070 Ti system will be as effective. The 1200p IPS screen is a good match for the GPU and CPU, which is of 20-core Intel stock. But, ack, another 512 GB SSD. Why?! Thankfully there are two M.2 slots in the system, making it an easy and cheap upgrade down the line.

My goodness, a well-specced RTX 50-series gaming laptop with a discount and a properly sized SSD? It must be my birthday. Anyway, we're massive fans of Lenovo's Legion laptops, and the new models are no exception. This is a properly powerful, good-looking, well-made machine that makes all the right noises, here for a downright reasonable price.

I know, I know, it's a lot of cash. But the truth is, it's difficult to find RTX 50-series laptops for anything less than silly money right now, and this one's got the big boi RTX 5080 for a just about reasonable sum. Our Dave has been playing with this particular model recently and likes the value proposition you get when you take into account that mega GPU, although it is a bit of a hairdryer on full whack. Still, stick it in Balanced mode and the noise is much more reasonable, and it still performs about as well as the other RTX 5080 machines we've tested. Which is to say, very well indeed.

Here comes the Lenovo Legion Pro 7i again, except this time with a full-fat 175 W RTX 5080 on board. Oh, and still with a rather substantial discount. While the RTX 5070 Ti model above is no slouch, it's worth mentioning that we've extensively tested the mobile RTX 5080 at this point, and can confirm it's a very speedy GPU indeed. Plus, 32 GB of RAM and a 2 TB SSD? Yeah, this is the full package alright, although it's not exactly cheap, I'll grant you.

And once more, with feeling... yep, it's another excellent Lenovo lappy. This one's got the almighty mobile RTX 5090 inside, although to be honest its a GPU we'd normally shy away from recommending due to the small performance gain over the mobile RTX 5080 for the extra expense. Still, you won't find an RTX 5090 gaming laptop with a significant discount anywhere else, so in it goes for good measure.

Okay, the Steam Deck may have had an OLED refresh and there are heaps of more powerful handhelds around, but the original version is still the archetype of what a mobile PC gaming device should be. It's just as powerful as the OLED model, so all those Steam Deck compatible games should run well. It's the OG PC gaming handheld, and it still demands respect, although this particular version does have quite a small SSD. Replacing it later with a larger unit is no great hassle, however.

The Legion Go is one of the more polished handhelds on the market, with a sleek 8.8-inch screen and detachable controllers. That screen is a little overkill for the lil' AMD chip inside this machine, the Z1 Extreme also found in the ROG Ally, but it's great for playing indies on while relaxing. One of the controllers also becomes a mouse if you need it, which is a bit of a gimmick but works pretty well. The main downside here is the small SSD, but it's a pretty easy upgrade later on.

Another superb combination of components in a Gigabyte laptop for a very reasonable price. The G6X has a speedy 165 Hz screen, a decently powerful Core i7 CPU, and a 105 W RTX 4060. Well lookee here, it's that rarest of things—a 1600p, 140 W RTX 4070 gaming laptop deal in the UK from a major manufacturer for less than £1,500. Ordinarily this laptop is a bit of a stalwart in our US deals, but here it's actually at a very similar price to stateside, and that makes it a good price for a UK gaming laptop deal. You're getting a super-speedy 240 Hz display, a grunty 16-core Intel chip, a proper RTX 4070 and a 1 TB SSD, all from a brand that knows a thing or two about making great gaming laptops. It's not particularly pretty, but we can forgive it for its super components at an excellent price.

Okay, it's still a lot of money to pay for an RTX 4070 laptop, but we're big fans of the new Asus TUF models. We've been very impressed by the RTX 5080 version of this particular laptop for the value proposition it provides, and the RTX 5070 Ti variant is unlikely to be a slouch, either. While most RTX 50-series lappys are still priced into the stratosphere, this 16-inch machine is downright reasonable for the components you end up receiving. That's apart from the SSD, unfortunately, which is far too small. Still, sticking a 1 TB drive in a laptop is one of the easier hardware tasks you can perform, and the rest of the components are pretty stellar for the cash.

RTX 5080 machines are still eye-wateringly expensive for the most part, but we're big fans of this Vector lappy, especially because of the price. It might not have the prettiest chassis, but it's as fast as a very, very fast thing for much cheaper than the competition—with a speedy 240 Hz IPS panel thrown into the bargain, too. That makes it a genuine value proposition in a laptop market that's still starved of stock and filled with extremely pricey equivalents. A smart buy right now, no doubt.
